ianos OYK watch
It is with immense honour and pride that we introduce the Ianos OYK watch.
Commissioned by the Athanasios C. Laskaridis Charitable Foundation (“ACLCF”), the IANOS OYK was developed exclusively for the active members of the Underwater Demolition Command (D.Y.K.), comprising the Underwater Demolitions Teams (“OYK”) Greece’s most elite military unit and we cannot be prouder to have been a part of this generous donation!
Produced in a limited series of 300 pieces these watches were made to be given as tokens of appreciation by the ACLCF to OYK members, present and future for their ongoing service and dedication to our country.
For Ianos, this collaboration represents a historic first: the only Greek watch brand ever to create a timepiece specifically for the military, bringing together cutting-edge design, Swiss precision, and authentic Greek spirit and we undertook this task with full appreciation of its importance. The result has been spectacular!
The Ianos OYK watch was developed in cooperation with OYK members and draws its inspiration from our most recent Ianos Dytis, as well as its predecessor, the Mihanikos. To achieve a balance between capable military watch and luxury, we reimagined our signature design with subtle refinements—creating a more compact, robust, and mission-ready watch while keeping those elements that make the watch unmistakably Ianos.
Apart from the design itself, it was important to us to make this watch as personal as possible for each member who received it. For this purpose, the deep blue dial symbolizing the dark seas in which the OYK operate, bears the OYK insignia—a mark of pride for every OYK member and the customized caseback is engraved with the O.Y.K. emblem, production number, and the “Swiss Made” hallmark, underscoring the watches’ exclusivity and authenticity.
In this way, the watch serves a dual purpose: to be a tool watch able to withstand the rigors of real-world deployments, as well as an heirloom meant to honor the supreme achievement of joining the ranks of Greece’s elite.
Each IANOS O.Y.K. watch is engineered with the field operator in mind, tested to excel in the most demanding environments.

The handover of the IANOS O.Y.K. watches was more than a gesture—it was a historic event attended by the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, at the Underwater Demolition Command (DYK) in Skaramangas.
In the Prime Minister’s words:
“It is symbolic, as it represents a small but tangible expression of gratitude and thanks for the extremely critical and difficult work carried out by perhaps the most elite unit of the Greek Armed Forces...
The OYK, as they are known in Greek society, have always been admired for the extremely tough process—an ordeal—that everyone wishing to join this elite unit must endure.
Mr. and Mrs. Laskaridis have chosen to honor your significant contribution to the Greek Armed Forces with a symbolic gift: the creation of a special watch by the Greek company IANOS, in a limited number. The watch you will receive is not available for sale; only you will have it... It is a diving watch that is a tangible expression of gratitude from the Greek state as well as from the donors for the extremely difficult work you perform.”
